Jim Dunnam

A Waco native, Jim Dunnam earned a B.B.A. in 1984 from Baylor University, and a J.D. in 1987 from Baylor Law School. He joined Dunnam & Dunnam in 1987, and was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1988.

In 1997, Jim was elected to the Texas House of Representatives to represent District 57, which includes McLennan, Falls, Robertson, Leon and Madison counties. After serving on a multitude of committees spanning various diverse issues, Jim was appointed the Texas House Democratic Leader in 2003 and served in that capacity through 2010.

When representing District 57, Rep. Dunnam was instrumental in passing numerous laws, including those protecting local drinking water, strengthening 911 service to rural areas, condensing class sizes for elementary students, recovering troubled charter schools and cracking down on drunk driving.

In 2001, Jim was named Young Lawyer of the Year by Baylor University.
